How complicated it can get sometimes when having general home renovations work done that involves electrical work and plumbing. so essential to have the professionals. We had a brand new one installed a few weeks ago and the new integral dishwasher eeding resiting quarter of a metre along from the old one. However it wasn’t a case of simply stretching the hoses. No, the whole stopcock and outside tap had to be moved and the twenty year old plumbing replaced with a new, much neater arrangement. Firstly the very professional plumbing guy had to find my water source at the meter point in next door’s next garden . . . the mains had to be halted for a few minutes. Then he had to completely drain the system down, i.e. shut off the water supply before emptying the entire tank load. It could have been heartbreaking to lose that much precious water after months of serous drought. But we drained it all into buckets and containers and when all of those were full, we filled the bath and I decanted it all into watering cans over the next day or two!
