Home Projects May Need Skip For Debris Disposal

Wen we need to have work carried out at our home, the first thing the contractor will arrange is a skip to be placed as conveniently near the location of the work as possible.  This is so that all the debris resulting from knocking out cupboards, bits of wall, windows etc. will be safely disposed of.  The homeowner is responsible for what is put in that skip however, not the hirer if it’s on behalf of the householder.  Problems can arise when skips are left outside on public road – the local neighbourhood often assume they can toss in any of their garbage too, particularly restricted or prohibited items.  Skips are empied at their company base and items recycled to various areas and if illegal items are found hidden in the skip, the householder for whom the skip was hired can be fined or at least have hefty additional charges on top for the legal and safe disposal of the items.   Lockable skips are available and advisable in certain locations.
